Description
The miniature version of the Ore Mountains offers the "Heimatanlage am Seifenbach" display near to the northern exit from the village. Around sixty key buildings from the Ore Mountains are shown in great detail on a scale of 1:40 in this little village situated 4 km from Schwarzenberg. Moving scenes give an insight into what everyday life was like in days gone by. At Fürstenberg you can see the Herkules-Frisch Glück educational mine complex. You access the 500 m long tunnel down to a depth of approximately 80 m via 250 steps. From 1705 to 1921 iron and marble were extracted from the mine. It is a five-minute walk from the car park, for at the mine itself there is nowhere to park! The ruin by the car park always generates great interest: It is St Oswald's Church (referred to in the vernacular as Dudels Church), the only collegiate church of Grünhain Monastery which fell into ruin after the Reformation.
The most significant buildings in the Ore Mountains are assembled here in one place.
