The White House is probably the most famous house in the world. It sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C and is the official resident of the president of the United States.
 
The world's most famous white house
It is built in the Neoclassical style out of Aquia sandstone which is painted a gleaming white. Many of the presidents added to the building during their time. President Theodore Roosevelt added the famous West Wingand President William Howard Taft created the first Oval Office. In total it has 6 floors and is owned by the National Park Service.
 
Tours and Visits
The White House is open for public self guided tours for United States citizens. Requests must be submitted between 21 days and six months in advance through one's Member of Congress.
