Bodrum Windmills

A beautiful sight at Bodrum are its windmills. A particularly popular attraction with the tourist, these white painted mills are made of just stone and wood. The windmills were used from the 18th century as a way of grinding flour for the local people.

The windmills sit on the hill separating Gumbet and Bodrum and offer spectacular panorama views. The mills face the northwest to catch the coastal winds. The other windmills can be found at Yalikacak, a former fishing port.

The windmills are being restored to attract tourists to visit.
