A day trip to Paris
With France being a popular tourist destination especially with the Brits. Why not visit the Capital City just for the day! If you are having a relaxing holiday in
can make a great change to have one day of hustle and bustle in the city. Although it is not possible to discover all Paris has to offer!
On Arrival
The most convenient way to arrive in Paris is by Train. This solves parking fees and makes sure you are right in the center to start your day trip! From any of the train stations, you can then buy yourself a metro card so you can travel around ion the underground system for the whole day.
See the City by River
A great introduction to the city and a way to see a lot at once is to take a boat trip down the river Seine. Things to look out for include:
• Pont Neuf – the oldest bridge in Paris
• Notre Dame Cathedral
• Replica of the Statue of liberty
• the Invalides bridge
• 37 bridges in total
A little bit of culture
Visit the artists that sit in the shadows of Sacre Cour. Either have a real portrait done or even a caricature if you are brave enough. Whether you have a painting done or not, there is lots worth seeing in this area of Paris. It is also a great pale to grab a French Crepe if you are feeling hungry.

HolidayCheck recommends leaving possible the most famous site in Paris until last. The Eiffel Tower is open until 11pm so don’t worry about leaving it late. If you still have enough energy to walk up the steps, it is a great achievement. However most people want to take the more relaxed option of the lift. On a summers evening it is often light until 21.30. Or if you visit in the winter, wrap up warm but you will get a beautiful view of the lights of this fantastic city.
