The Scottish capital hosts a 4 day festival over the New Year period, which is known as Hogmanay in Scotland. As well as Scottish traditions like the opening “torchlight procession”, the event includes a series of ticketed and free live music and DJ performances. The highlight of the festival is the New Year’s Eve street party, where you can drink in one of the temporary outside bars and watch the spectacular fireworks display. Although this can be a pricy weekend to stay in Edinburgh, you will defiantly see the New Year in, in style!
