Liverpool – Ferry Cross the Mersey
I started my trip to Liverpool in possibly the most famous way to arrive in Liverpool! Like the famous song Ferry across the Mersey. I took the boat from Seacombe, the other side of the River Mersey
from Liverpool. It is easy and cheap to park there. The boat ride lasts less than 30 mins and is really easy. I was a little disappointed that they only played the song for 2 mins at the end of the
trip! You can sit inside of outside on the ferries, or at least on the one I was on. If you are outside you get a great view of Liverpool as you come into the harbor, especially of the Liver Birds
that sit on the tower of the Royal Liver building.
We stayed at the Liverpool International Inn youth hostel, which was more than perfect for one night. Good value for money, good location near the centre and no curfew so we were able to come back to the hostel whenever we wanted.
Whilst in Liverpool there is a feeling of the Beetles Culture, although we didn’t go inside the famous music venue, the Cavern, we walked past it. Also on this street were buskers singing Beatles covers.
The city as a whole has a great atmosphere, and the people are extremely friendly. All in all a great trip to a great city.
