Top 5 Las Vegas Attractions

Everyone knows that you go to Vegas to party and gamble. But once you’ve left the bar or stepped away from that blackjack or roulette table, what else is there to see and do? Lots, we say. Read on for a roundup of the top Las Vegas Attractions.

Drive down the Vegas Strip

You’ve seen it in the movies, and you need to do it. Driving down the famous Las Vegas Strip is easily one of the top Las Vegas attractions. This is the major street in town and is home to over 25 casinos including the most famous like the Bellagio, the New York New York, the Paris, MGM Grand, Caesers Palace, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, the Venetian and more. You glide past heaps of Neon, fantastical architecture, the New York skyline, the “Eiffel” Tower, pyramids, and more. Welcome to Vegas, baby! www.virtualvegasstrip.com

Visit CityCenter’s Fine Art Collection
CityCenter is a massive mixed-use space on the Strip and connects several casinos with a people-mover (a small elevated tram). In this complex is the Fine Art collection, which is the largest public art collection in the United States and one of the top Las Vegas attractions. Art pieces are peppered around the area (both inside and outside) and include dynamic sculptures, large scale installations integrated into the architecture, paintings and other pieces. Wandering around here is like being in a strolling gallery---everywhere you turn, a new piece of art appears. Highlights include the Big Edge, a huge sculpture built of multicolored canoes and a modern variation of the Damascus gate. www.citycenter.com

Watch the Fountains at the Bellagio

The Bellagio, one the Las Vegas’ most elegant casinos, is also home to a vast fountain that sits in front of the palatial casino. Vast water jets perform a symphony of movement, essentially this is a choreographed water show set to music (anything from Frank Sinatra to Andrea Bocelli) and, at night, lights. It is one of the top Las Vegas attractions so we recommend you arrive a bit early to secure a front spot at the railing to see the show. It takes place every 15 minutes between 8pm and midnight and every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings. We highly recommend seeing it at night, the lights make the show extra special. www.bellagio.com/attractions/fountains-of-bellagio.aspx

Ride a Gondola at the Venetian
You don’t need to go to Venice. No, Vegas has its own canal system inside the Venetial Hotel and Casino, and you can hop on a boat for a romantic ride. Sure, it’s not the real thing but who cares when you are floating on the water under curvy bridges, lolling past cafes and sidewalks. It really does seem like the real thing, except you are inside. This is definitely counts as one of the top Las Vegas attractions. http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Amenities/Activities/Gondala-Rides/

Go See a Show

Seeing a Las Vegas show is most definitely one of the top Las Vegas attractions. There are oodles to choose from but they all exude their own version of glitz and glam. Some of the longstanding favorites include Cirque de Soleil at the Bellagio, Blue Man Group at the Venetian, Viva Elvis at the Aria or Jubilee at Bally’s (which features the famous Las Vegas showgirls in their glamorous, over-the-top costumes). www.vegas.com/shows
