Top 5 Rome Budget Hotels
This can be a tough place if you are looking for Rome budget hotels. It’s a busy, popular town and seemingly always crowded with people on a budget. But if you have some patience, reserve well in
advance and heed our suggestions below, then you’ll be in good shape and will be able to keep your accommodation costs on the cheap side.
Hotel Italia
This family-owned gem near Termini station is not just one of the best Rome budget hotels, but it is also a charming place to rest your weary-after-sightseeing-in-Rome head. It is housed in a turn of the 20th century structure and features a massive breakfast buffet. Rooms are simple but tidy with wood floorings and the service here is top-notch. www.hotelitaliaroma.it
Hotel Aphrodite
This modern, renovated hotel is slightly soulless but still offers excellent value if you are willing to forgo character. It’s conveniently located near Termini station and features a pleasant rooftop terrace, unusual among Rome budget hotels. Rooms are basic but have all you need. An extra perk is the fact that they arrange tours throughout the city and beyond, from bicycle excursions to walking tours. We particularly like the Rome by Night tour. www.aphroditehotelrome.com
Hotel Parlamento
Situated near the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo, few Rome budget hotels can boast a location like this. The friendly reception instantly makes you feel at home and rooms are furnished with antiques and bright bedspreads. No room is like the next exactly, one even contains a private terrace and some have beautiful marble sinks. There is also a rooftop terrace to enjoy, with excellent views. www.hotelparlamento.it
Scott House Hotel
This is an excellent choice if all the other Rome budget hotels are full, which can easily happen in peak season. T Scott’s House, you’ll get a bright, Ikea showroom-like room but very modern and clean room, with enough space to move about but nothing that will make you want to linger. High ceiling make the spaces still feel airy, though. But that’s fine since the prices are extremely low. www.scotthouse.com
Hotel delle Muse
This suburban place is great for those who are seeking Rome budget hotels but don’t mind being a short way from the center. They also offer free parking, which you will not find at central Rome hotels. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood with lots of charm. Rooms are tastefully furnished with modern character and cheerful colors. There is also a lovely Italian restaurant on site which is happy to offer gluten-free options, something we have never seen at any other Italian restaurant. www.hoteldellemuse.com
