Top 5 Things to Do in Paris with Kids

If you think that Paris attractions are only for adults, think again. This city has oodles of child-friendly attractions for kids and with a little planning you’ll find that visiting Paris with kids can be a fantastic experience. Here’s our guide to making the most of your family trip:

Zoom up the Eiffel Tower
There are a number of ways to experience one of the world’s most famous attractions. Kids get a kick out of zooming up the elevator to the top – as you zip your way up, the view over the city gets better and better. Alternatively, opt to hike up the stairs part of the way. Energetic kids love the fact that they can walk up to the 2nd floor. From there, you hop on the elevator for the rest of the journey to the top. All the details are available at www.eiffel-tower.com.

Take a Day Trip to Disneyland Paris
Okay, the theme park isn’t exactly inside the Paris city limits, but if you are visiting Paris with kids this is one day trip you can’t miss. Disneyland Paris is only 35 to 40 minutes outside of Paris and guarantees a fun filled day full of Cinderella’s Castle, rides, Disney characters. For more information go to www.disneylandparis.com.

Sail those Toy Boats at Luxembourg Gardens
Parisian parks might be manicured and decadent, but they also offer fun treats for kids of all ages. Head to Luxembourg Gardensand make a beeline straight to the boat pond. Kids can sail tiny boats around the pond – this might be a pastime for families travelling to Paris with kids, but adults often have just as much fun.Or, get two boats and parents and kids can race their boast along the water.

Be a Scientist at the Museum of Science and Industry
Here’s a museum that is both fun and educations. Exhibits are geared to keeping kids entertained and engaged, and feature hands on exhibits. It’s a great way for you to visit Paris with kids and give them a little lesson in science and technology. One section features activities geared to 5 to 12 year olds. You can test your sense of balance, create enough energy to give power to a television. Or conduct a science experiment testing water density with a series of balls and waterspouts. Check out all the options at the Museum’s official website at www.cite-sciences.fr/en/cite-des-sciences.

Hit the Kids Park in the Bois de Bologne
This might be an obvious choice for visiting Paris with Kids, but we love this patch of green. It’s a park within a park, set in asection of the even larger park, Bois de Bologne. Both kids and adults start by hopping on the petit train (tiny train) which whisks you from the Port Mallot train and metro station to the park entrance. Once inside you can choose from a variety of kids activities. One favorite is the small farm filled with animals like turkeys, rabbits and donkeys. There are even several beehives where you can see how honey is made.Other options include playing miniature golf or and riding on a rollercoaster.Being here is like stumbling upon a country fair on the edge of Paris.
