Hi everybody!
I want to travel to Cuba next spring and I was wondering about how to pay there. Are creditcards accepted or is it better to use travelers cheques? Any ideas?

Hi Montana,
I havn\'t been to Cuba myself but I worked in a German travel agency. As far as I know, it is no problem to exchange Euros at any bank or exchange office. US dollars are not accepted for cash payments. Credit cards (not from American banks) are also accepted in the touristic areas. Travelers cheques can also be used, but here again, they have to be issued by non American banks. To be absolutely sure, you can also ask for further information at your bank at home. They should be able to give you detailed information.
Enjoy planning your trip!
Cheers,
Anja

-- Hi,
Euro?
Montana you can take your Pounds and change them in any Bank or CADECA all over Cuba.
And as well you can get cuban money, called Peso Convertible with your British Credit Card. Not from an American Bank as Amex or Citi Bank.
There are not many ATM?s in Cuba, so you have to enter a Bank and show your Passport.
Do?nt ask your Bank

Actually...there are a good number of ATM's in Cuba in the major cities. I always use them when there (quite often). They will not work with traditional bank cards, but do just fine with "NON US
ISSUED" Visa and Mastercards. I use a debit Visa....no problems whatsoever!
Enjoy!
