Need help

Hi,my sister and l are going to the US and while there we are going to the Y.osemites,it will be in early May and have been told the roads will be heavy with snow at that time of the year,just wondering if anybody out there can help,we will be driving there from Santa Cruz,also after some good accomodation close to the park.Thankyou from Australia
