Hello, I was wondering If the slums in Brazil are as dangerous as I heard. Does anyone know anything about it (other South American countries as well)?

Hi

The slums are dangerous for everyone, even those who live there. Anyways, you could find tours for slums in Rio de Janeiro, but in that case, the tour company arranges a safe way to go. They contact the slum leaders and they usually agree. Then it’s safe. I’ve never heard any bad stories about it!

Hope you enjoy it!

May be you will know that the largest slum, or better "favela" in Brazil, is called Rocinha and is in Rio de Janeiro!!! (where the famous football player Adriano comes from)

There are actually guided tours, absolutely the only way you would want to visit it!!
I've been to Rio but I didn't manage to visit it; in any case it is so huge you can see it even from far away!
