The first thing your mother could have done when youcomplained of toothache is place a clove on the swollen gum before calling thedentist for an appointment. This dried flower bud native to Indonesia spices upthe culinary's and used in Indian ayurvedic medicines, Chinesemedicines, western herbalism and dentistry. Toothaches due to cavities and decay and tooth infection is reduced through the useof clove oil.  

The carminative property of the spice is helpful inincreasing the hydrochloric acid in the stomach and also improves peristalsis.A natural anthel mintic, the application of oil on the stomach also warms thedigestive tract which is necessary in case of abdominal and digestivediscomfort. Aromatherapy also uses clove oil as one of the antidote. Cloves arealso able to strenghten the kidney. This magical bud is used in ayurvedic formulasto cure impotence and helps clear vaginal discharge.  

The oil is also a partof ayurvedic beauty products as they have the potential to cure skin problemssuch as acne, pimples, irritations and burns. Cloves form a main part of theherbal tea and is thus considered a healthy beverage ingredient. Fatal diseasessuch as multiple sclerosis involve treatments with clove oil to relieve pain.However excessive use is not recommended especially for those with Pittaprakruti.
